Tile, metal or commercial: we work on all of it
The Coast's roofs range from post-war tile to brand new Colorbond and big commercial sheds, and each one fails, and gets fixed, differently.
Terracotta & concrete tile
The classic roof of the Coast's older suburbs: Gosford, Woy Woy, The Entrance. Salt air strips coatings faster here than inland, concrete tiles slowly go porous, and coastal storms find every cracked tile and failed ridge. If the tiles are still sound, restoration (clean, rebed and repoint, membrane coat) buys the roof another decade or more; we replace only what's actually broken.
Colorbond & metal
The destination for most of our tile-to-metal conversions, and the right spec for exposed coastal blocks: lighter, wind-tough and made for marine environments when the right grade is chosen. Metal's enemy is corrosion at fasteners, laps and scratches, and salt accelerates all of it. Caught early it's a repair and recoat; left too long it's a re-sheet. We do both, and tell you which yours is.
Commercial & industrial
Factories, warehouses and shopfronts carry big metal roofs that fade, chalk and eventually leak, and re-sheeting them means downtime. Our high-performance protective coating systems restore the weatherproofing and reflectivity of a commercial roof at a fraction of replacement cost, with the work staged around your operating hours.

Choosing a service: common questions

When does a tile-to-metal conversion make sense?
When the tiles themselves are at end of life (porous, brittle or shedding) but you'd rather not inherit the same problem again in twenty years. Swapping to Colorbond gives you a lighter roof that handles coastal wind and salt better than ageing tile, and it's one of our most popular jobs. If your tiles are still sound, though, restoration is the smarter spend, and we'll tell you so.
Does living near the water change what my roof needs?
It changes almost everything. Salt air corrodes exposed metal (fasteners, valleys, gutters) years faster than the same roof would age inland, and it strips cheap coatings early. Within the coastal strip we specify accordingly: marine-grade metal where it's exposed, and coating systems chosen for salt and UV rather than whatever's cheapest that week. It's a big part of why a Coast roof deserves a Coast roofer.
Do you take on commercial and industrial roofs?
Yes. Alongside residential work we apply high-performance protective coating systems to commercial and industrial metal roofs across the Central Coast. If your building has a fading, chalking or leaking metal roof, a coating system is usually far cheaper and less disruptive than re-sheeting.
Can the gutters, guards and fascia be done in the same job as the roof?
Yes, and it's usually the smart way round: gutters and fascia come off and go back on during a re-roof anyway, and a fresh restoration deserves better than tired, rusting gutters underneath it. We scope the whole roofline in one visit so nothing gets quoted twice or blamed on the other trade.
Is the free inspection really free. What's the catch?
No catch. We get on the roof, photograph what we find, and give you one itemised written quote covering everything, so if you need ridge repointing and a couple of gutter runs, you see what each part costs and can decide what to do now versus later. If the roof's fine, we tell you that too and leave you alone. No obligation, no follow-up pressure.
